What Fulton Market looks like

A steel arch reading Fulton Market District spans the 800 block of the street, brick warehouses lining both sides behind loading docks and metal canopies. The buildings run two to six storeys, mostly red and brown brick with corbeled cornices and arched window heads. One lane of one way traffic runs past granite cobbled intersections and raised sidewalks at the loading docks.

Newer construction fills in beside the older stock, matching the street wall rather than setting back from it. 811 West Fulton is a six storey office building in dark brick and glass, built flush to the sidewalk beside its older brick neighbors.

At 808 West Lake Street the keeps a narrow terra cotta name plate above a ground floor bakery. Scaffolding and construction fencing are common on the block, with older warehouses mid renovation behind their original brick walls.

Ever is a real restaurant with two Michelin stars. The production used it as itself rather than building a set, and the season two episode Forks follows Richie interning there before the season three finale Forever returns to it.

What Fulton Market can double for

Meatpacking District in New York City, New York

Fulton Market's brick warehouses sit behind loading docks and steel canopies, close in fabric to Manhattan's Meatpacking District, itself a former meatpacking corridor of cobbled streets now filled with restaurants and offices. Keep the frame at street level, since the Chicago skyline in a wide shot or an establishing drone pass gives the location away immediately. Try searching brick warehouses loading docks now.

West Bottoms in Kansas City, Missouri

West Bottoms is Kansas City's own former stockyards and warehouse district, with brick facades, loading docks and rail proximity close to Fulton Market's own turn of the century meatpacking corridor. West Bottoms sits lower and flatter, without Fulton Market's newer glass topped additions, so limit shots to blocks that keep the original cornice line. Try searching brick warehouse loading dock now.

Distillery District in Toronto, Ontario

Toronto's Distillery District is a cluster of Victorian brick warehouse buildings on cobblestone lanes, close in scale to Fulton Market's own market streets and loading canopies. The Distillery District's buildings are shorter and closer together than Fulton Market's. Its lanes also carry no vehicle traffic, so a frame with parked cars or moving trucks would need to lose them. Try searching cobblestone brick warehouse district now.
