The buildings here are dark red brick with stone trim, crenellations and dormers, set behind mature trees and open lawn. Frank Gehry's curved, silver clad rises a few blocks north on Bellflower Road. It was completed in 2002.

Hessler Court, which continues north to Bellflower Road, keeps its original wood block paving. The paving dates from around 1916, the only such paving left on a Cleveland street.
The HealthLine bus rapid transit runs along Euclid Avenue through the district, with newer brick apartment buildings over ground floor shops built along the route. The occupies the former Ford Motor Company assembly plant at Euclid Avenue and East 116th Street, a building Ford put up in 1914 and 1915 to Albert Kahn's design.
Shot in University Circle
Air Force One used the district's streets and the Cuyahoga County Courthouse downtown as the film's Moscow government buildings in 1997, with the Case Western Reserve University campus standing in separately for the Kazakhstan presidential palace. The Marvel sequel The Winter Soldier, part of the Captain America series, later used the Cleveland Museum of Art's glass roofed atrium as the lobby of the fictional Triskelion. The atrium was added to the building in 2012.

What University Circle can double for
The Fens in Boston, Massachusetts
The Museum of Fine Arts has stood over the Fens behind a granite facade since 1909, the same pairing of a stone museum front above a park that Wade Lagoon gives the Cleveland Museum of Art. The Fens reads narrower and more wooded than the open lawn around Wade Lagoon, so a wide shot needs the water kept close to frame out the difference. Try searching granite museum facade now.
The University of Chicago's Main Quadrangles were designed by Henry Ives Cobb in a Collegiate Gothic style patterned on Oxford, with towers and gatehouses close in scale to Adelbert Road's own Gothic quad. Mitchell Tower alone was modeled directly on Oxford's Magdalen Tower. Chicago's quads run larger and more uniform than Adelbert Road's, so a tighter frame around one gatehouse or archway holds the match better than a wide shot of the whole quad.
